Supporting Sexual Health and Intimacy in Care Facilities
Report: Supporting Sexual Health and Intimacy in Care Facilities: Guidelines for Supporting Adults Living in Long-Term Care Facilities and Group Homes in British Columbia, Canada, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, July 15, 2009.
These guidelines are meant for care facilities, including nursing homes, group homes, and assisted living settings in British Columbia, but may be useful in other care-giving settings in other areas. The Guidelines relate to adults with mental or physical challenges. They may be used as they are written, or adapted to meet the unique needs of individual facilities and their client populations.
Each guideline is supported by legal and ethical rationale, as well as a list of clinical (caregiver and/or facility) responsibilities.
National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke
