Hockey Canada taking serious look at head shots
Brainstreams.ca features videos of brain injury survivors and their families sharing their stories and lessons learned. Here's this month's featured story. Judi Libin: a mother whose son sustained a traumatic brain injury resulting from an assault. She talks about her son’s injury and how the family supported him throughout his journey of recovery.

How we 'feel the noise': Links in the brain can connect the sensations of sound and touch

Dr. Cheryl Wellington is a Professor in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Wellington obtained her PhD in Microbiology at UBC in 1991 and did postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School, U of C, and UBC. She joined the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the UBC in 2000 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2006. Dr. Wellington’s group has made key contributions to the understanding of the role of apolipoprotein E (apoE) in Alzheimer’s Disease and Traumatic Brain Injury.
David McGuire, a brain injury survivor, began his mission of running a marathon a day across the country on April 1st in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and is now entering New Brunswick!
