Back in Motion Rehab: MindWorksBC
We are a Pre-employment program for people with neurological disabilities. Back In Motion Rehab is a private company, MindWorksBC is funded through a contract with the Ministry of Social Development and therefore the services are free for clients who are eligible.
Eligibility
To be eligible for MindWorksBC, applicants must have a confirmed Neurological disability/condition, be interested in pursuing employment in the future and be of legal working age. They must not be eligible for any third party funding, e.g. ICBC.
The purpose of our program is to assist individuals to better manage their disability, increase their quality of life and maximize independence for the purpose of helping prepare them for participation in community employment services. Our services are offered on a 1-1 basis by our Case Manager, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Neuro-Psychologist and/or Kinesiologist. Some specific examples of what types of challenges we assist individuals with include: increasing concentration skills, scheduling and remembering appointments, avoiding distractions, using a new walking device such as a cane or managing nausea or dizziness due to a stroke or injury.
