My name is Michael Coss, and I am a grateful brain injury survivor who suffered a diffuse axonal injury on May 18th of 2006. It has now been 15 years of rehabilitation for me. I have been very fortunate to have worked with various individuals with many specializations, trades, and competencies. I had to relearn everything again, how to speak, eat, walk, and to become as independent as I can be.
Now, it is my turn to give back to others. As the month of June is brain injury awareness month in Canada, I’m planning on hosting a Zoom call for brain injury survivors across Canada, to develop new friendships, share key wins and losses, and to reinforce the power of human connection.
